Question 1: What is CommunityArk and who is it for?

Answer:
CommunityArk offers small hospitals and ambulatory facilities a cost-effective, accelerated pathway to archive legacy Ambulatory Electronic Medical Records (AEMRs) and other applications while maintaining full access to legal medical records in a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment.

It’s a right-sized approach to archiving—fast to deploy, easy to use, and ideal for organizations looking to reduce legacy costs without compromising compliance or patient care. CommunityArk is tailored for community hospitals and provider practices, ensuring they can save money while fully transitioning from legacy applications.

Question 2: What types of applications and data can you archive in CommunityArk?

Answer:
CommunityArk can archive any application holding patient-centric data, including:

  • Structured data: Results like labs, vitals, PAMI data.
  • Unstructured data: Scanned images, care summary documents, and other legacy vendor records.

It supports outpatient records (e.g., AEMRs), historical transactional data from financial systems like practice management applications, and more. The platform adapts to client-specific challenges, making it a versatile solution for diverse data needs.

Question 3: How is CommunityArk different from DataArk, and how do they work together in a strategic enterprise archiving program?

Answer:
CommunityArk is a streamlined module of DataArk that complements an enterprise archiving strategy. Both platforms integrate seamlessly, allowing patient data from CommunityArk and DataArk to be accessed in the same place.

For large health systems with acquisition strategies, whether community hospitals, urgent care clinics, or provider practices, CommunityArk provides a cost-effective solution to consolidate legacy data into one platform, managed by one vendor. It’s a green budget item and an immediate cost saver, making it essential for transitioning applications and implementing archival strategies across standalone centers or large enterprises.

Question 4: Why is CommunityArk the best solution for the ambulatory space?

Answer:
CommunityArk is ideal for the ambulatory space because it addresses critical needs:

  • Cost efficiency: It’s significantly cheaper than legacy licensing fees.
  • Time savings: It ensures data is easy to find, allowing providers to focus on patient care.
  • Urgency: It helps organizations meet deadlines for data access, such as transitional service agreements or contract extensions with legacy vendors.

CommunityArk quickly migrates data into a secure location while supporting legal retention and continuity of care.

Question 5: How is CommunityArk better than a document storage solution?

Answer:
CommunityArk goes beyond document storage by archiving discrete, patient-centric data alongside documents. This makes searching for data easier and enhances release-of-information processes. Associated metadata is captured to support continuity of care, legal retention, and other use cases.

Question 6: How secure is data within CommunityArk?

Answer:
Data security is a top priority across MediQuant products, including CommunityArk. The platform meets industry standards such as SOC 2 and HITRUST certifications, ensuring compliance and onshore data management. Features like role-based security and sensitive data management align with client-specific policies, making CommunityArk a trusted solution for secure archival strategies.

Question 7: How does CommunityArk ensure compliance during data migration projects?

Answer:
Compliance starts with data validation and quality review. MediQuant identifies issues, such as missing electronic signatures, and works with clients to resolve them. Consolidating data into one platform simplifies management and ensures compliance with legal retention benchmarks.

Question 8: How have other organizations used CommunityArk successfully?

Answer:
CommunityArk has been implemented nationwide, supporting standalone provider practices, public health centers, community hospitals, and large academic facilities. It’s a cost-saving, green budget item that integrates seamlessly into acquisition strategies, making it a popular choice across diverse healthcare organizations.

Question 9: If CommunityArk were an actor, who would it be and why?

Answer: I know you’re thinking the answer is obvious, and you’re right. The answer is very obviously Nicolas Cage. Just as Cage brings order to chaos in movies like Con Air, CommunityArk organizes legacy data and resolves archival challenges in the cloud. It’s fast, efficient, and ensures no details are overlooked—like Cage uncovering National Treasures. In fact, CommunityArk transitions organizations off legacy applications so quickly, it’s like they’re Gone in 60 Seconds.
