Second Deal in Two Days

MediQuant Purchases HeF Solutions to Continue Building Comprehensive Suite of Services

Brings Data Conversion In-House

Finalizing the second deal in a week, MediQuant, the leading innovator and provider of enterprise active archiving solutions to hospitals and health systems, announced today that it has executed a purchase contract for HeF Solutions. HeF is a healthcare technology firm specializing in electronic medical records (EMR) data conversions, legacy data archival and technical services that support needed access to clinical records.

The agreement deepens MediQuant’s data conversion services, expanding the tools, resources and capabilities offered to clients who require Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) services to manage a shift between EMR systems. This is the second step in a week MediQuant has taken to further its capability to serve clients, complementing its recent incorporation of extraction services through DataEmerge. Collectively, the acquisitions reinforce MediQuant’s position as the leader in the healthcare enterprise archiving space.

“These additional resources give us the ability to streamline our service offering and reinforce a responsive, consistent and unified approach,” said Jim Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer at MediQuant. “We welcome the HeF team and value their expertise. MediQuant and HeF clients will continue as planned, but now have the commitment of both companies to ensure speed and accuracy of conversion, data archiving and in-house extraction. Together, these teams solidify MediQuant’s broad expertise in meeting the needs of the most complex, time-constrained EMR transitions.”

HeF Solutions has helped clients convert data since 2006, following a six-step process called RightPath® Procmigrate so they can map extensive data records from their legacy systems. The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Alex continues to serve dedicated clients based on HeF’s traditional commitment to innovative technology and expert support for quality data management.

“Joining forces is the ideal way to ensure clients have the most effective, accurate and efficient conversion process when switching from one EHR to another,” said Alex. “We are excited about strengthening MediQuant’s end-to-end offering.”

Already recognized as one of the fastest growing HIT services, MediQuant is on track to continue its dramatic growth while also expanding the scope of service to build a comprehensive solution for all elements of enterprise active archiving and management for both financial and clinical data.

MediQuant will showcase its enterprise active archiving solutions at the HIMSS19 Global Conference and Exhibition from February 11-15, 2019 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. MediQuant Acquires DataEmerge

Acquisition will Enhance Data Management Bandwidth and Capabilities

MediQuant, the leading innovator and provider of enterprise active archiving solutions to hospitals and health systems, announced today the acquisition of DataEmerge, a leading data extraction service and long-time cooperative partner with MediQuant in supporting speed to value for clients.

The agreement will add tools, resources and capabilities, making MediQuant one of the only companies to offer complete in-house extraction services, while continuing to have DataEmerge serve others in the industry.

Culturally, it’s a perfect fit of two families that have been close for years. Cliff and team have been great collaborators in helping us become the leading enterprise active archive provider.
— Jim Jacobs, MediQuant CEO & President

DataEmerge has helped clients migrate hundreds of EMR, financial and other clinical systems and map billions of data records from their legacy systems. Founder and CEO Cliff Skinner brings years of experience in Healthcare IT consultancy, supported by his leadership team, including Chief Technology Officer Kevin Saffer and Data Migration Specialist Alex Van Schoyck. In the five years since its inception, the company has become a leading provider to the healthcare industry, offering data migration from legacy source systems that enable clients to access their legacy data more cost-effectively.

“This merger is an opportunity for both MediQuant and DataEmerge to grow and expand our offerings and quality,” said Jim Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer at MediQuant. “Culturally, it’s a perfect fit of two families that have been close for years. Cliff and team have been great collaborators in helping us become the leading enterprise active archive provider.”

Working together to offer Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) services, both firms have expanded quickly during the prevailing trend of industry consolidation. The focus of DataEmerge on data extractions for most of the healthcare financial and clinical systems will enhance MediQuant’s success in all phases of ETL and legacy data management. With this merger, MediQuant plans to deepen its commitment to efficiently collecting data from multiple sources and offering rapid and accurate transformation to single systems that increase access to all data.

Skinner will continue to lead the DataEmerge product line, supporting all of his current clients with the same dedication and focus on growth.

“DataEmerge is excited to become a part of the MediQuant portfolio. We will continue to lead in cost- and time- effective data extractions while gaining the resources and technology to make sure we offer our clients the most complete solutions for their needs,” said Skinner.

Its sponsor, ACG Cleveland, is Northeast Ohio’s leading organization for merger and acquisition and corporate growth professionals.

ACG will honor MediQuant at the 23rd Annual Deal Maker Awards in recognition of the company’s strategy to expand its market leadership in healthcare data management and fuel its growth as a clinical data solutions provider. “The growth investment from Silversmith Capital Partners, together with our doubling of both revenue and customers over the past two years, has made this the most exciting time in MediQuant’s history,” said Paparella. “Starting off our 20th anniversary year with our eighth consecutive Weatherhead 100 Award and now ACG’s Deal Maker Award inspires us to keep innovating so our clients have easy access to the data they need to improve patient outcomes. Weatherhead 100 Award

Weatherhead 100 Award Recognizes MediQuant’s Leadership, Growth and Success in Enterprise Archiving for Eighth Consecutive Year

MediQuant, a leading provider of enterprise active archiving to hospitals and health systems, has generated hundreds of millions of dollars in cost savings for its clients, which in turn has helped advance patient care and outcomes for nearly 20 years. Now for the eighth consecutive year, MediQuant has been recognized for its success as a healthcare solutions provider with the prestigious Weatherhead 100 Award, which honors Northeast Ohio’s fastest-growing companies.

“MediQuant helped create the category of healthcare data management and archiving, but it’s our ongoing innovation in this sector and evolution into clinical data solutions and beyond that have fueled our continued growth,” said Tony Paparella, Chairman and Founder. “In just the past two years, our revenue and customer base have both doubled, and in 2018 we increased our staff by 30 percent. It is an honor for us to be a recipient of the 2018 Weatherhead 100 Award in recognition of all this forward momentum.”

Paparella is also bullish on his company’s future growth given the need for effective and efficient clinical data and active archiving solutions in healthcare is greater now more than ever. “The increasing complexity and quantity of health data, the ever-changing rules governing care and reimbursement, and ongoing industry consolidation prove that the only constant in healthcare is change,” he said. “Healthcare’s transitory nature is precisely what will propel us to continue developing new services and products that simplify IT, maximize cost savings, and empower healthcare professionals to provide optimal care to their patients.”
