While flipping through the “Show Daily” on the shuttle from the convention center late this afternoon, I read a piece by HIMSS President and CEO Hal Wolf that called for healthcare “champions to solve our global challenges.” While an obvious tie into this year’s HIMSS theme: Champions of Health Unite, it’s uncanny how nice of a tie it is to the activity that’s been happening at MediQuant over the past two days.

On Monday, MediQuant announced its acquisition of DataEmerge, a leading data extraction service and long-time cooperative partner with MediQuant in supporting speed to value for clients. And, earlier today, MediQuant announced its acquisition of HeF, a healthcare technology firm specializing in electronic medical records (EMR) data conversions, legacy data archival and technical services that support needed access to clinical records.

By uniting these three champions for health, MediQuant stands to better serve our customers. And, at the end of the day, focusing on the needs of our customers is how every single one of us will help solve those global challenges.

Wolf is right: “We must work together despite differences in geographies or economic disparities to find solutions to the health problems that plague us all.”

I witnessed this today in the booth. As we added DataEmerge’s Founder and CEO Cliff Skinner, DataEmerge’s CTO Kevin Saffer and HeF’s CEO Daniel Alex into the fold, conversations quickly turned to how our newly inked relationships would help add value to our customers.

Now that’s how champions of health unite!
