The decommissioning project will begin in March with the legacy Accounts Receivable system at MaineHealth’s 600-plus bed Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine and continue with additional projects covering financial, administrative and clinical information across multiple MaineHealth healthcare centers during the next three years.
DataArk® provides a centralized “active archive” that takes control of legacy data and makes it accessible to end-users through an intuitive, easy-to-learn interface. DataArk® is an enterprise-wide, standardized solution that allows for patient records to be brought together in one common data structure regardless of the source system, saving thousands of dollars for MaineHealth on maintaining disparate systems containing legacy data. DataArk® offers one central repository for all of MaineHealth’s enterprise-wide applications scheduled to be archived and which fall under its system-wide record retention policy.
This central repository of archived data aligned with MaineHealth’s goal to implement information systems necessary to achieve its vision of one patient, one record, referred to as “The Shared Electronic Health Record” (SeHR). MediQuant’s DataArk® solution will allow providers across multiple locations and specialties instant access to all of the clinical and financial archived records. DataArk® provides a secure single sign-on for users to access data through any workstation that has an Internet connection.
“We are looking forward to the opportunity to work with MaineHealth,” said Tony Paparella, president, MediQuant, Inc. “This partnership will allow us to combine our technical and consulting expertise to provide targeted strategies, software and services to migrate MaineHealth’s old legacy systems with no interruption to their primary focus — their patients.”
